The distribution of peak factor in QPSK Multi-Carrier modulation

چکیده
This paper presents the results of a preliminary investigation into the distribution of peak factors in the QPSK message space for different numbers of carriers with the aim of determining those messages which exhibit a low peak factor relative to a given threshold. A group structure is suggested which associates cosets of 16 messages into equivalence classes having the same peak power. Algorithms for finding the members of cosets and equivalence classes are given. These messages are then rank ordered by peak power to show how a suitable code could be derived. It appears that allocating just one or two bits of redundancy to such a code will be sufficient to achieve substantial reductions in peak factor.

In this paper, we propose an optical millimetre wave radio-over-fibre (mm-wave RoF) system that uses a dual drive Mach Zehnder modulator (DD-MZM), which is biased at the maximum transmission biasing point, to generate an optical double sideband-suppressed carrier. The input to the DD-MZM are binary phase shift keying (BPSK), quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK), 8-phase shift keying (8-PSK) and...

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a well-known modulation technique for transmission of large amount of digital data with high data rate in both wired and wireless communication systems. High peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is the main problem of OFDM system which can be improved by using single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) technique. The simulation...
